A great second entry in this series. Now that Logan has the introductions of characters and place taken care of, I found this book to move along more quickly. Of course, we know little more about Bea's New York background. Bea may not be her real name, but she is cautious about getting involved in the "finding" of the print from Charles Dickens' book. Of course, her secret is what binds her to Levi, and while she seems to reject that relationship, I suspect she's merely delaying the inevitable. Maybe in a future book Levi and Bea will have to deal with something from her past and that will "cement" their relationship. Does Levi have secrets also? Logan invites her readers to speculate on Bea's past by giving Bea's character information not generally held. How does she know all this about Dickens?I enjoyed the Defarge sisters, but I found their name a bit precious: knitters? Defarge? Bastille Day celebration? Guillotine? Charles Dickens contest? I forgive Logan all this because the story moved along, was a good mystery, and was well solved. A faster read and a "better" book than the first one, I thought, although I recognize the first book has much to do with establishing characters, their relationships, setting--and in this case the unique qualities of the setting which contribute to the mystery. A good read. Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.5 stars... I loved this book! It had earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
What do You think about A Tale Of Two Biddies (2014)?
