“Hey, kid. ‘Bout time you got your ass home where it belongs.” Chevy pulled her into a hug, holding her at arm’s length just enough to size her up. “Hi, Chevy. It’s good to see you.” “Damn, look at you! You’re all grown up, honey.” Her finger traced the knot on Abi’s eye, her face twisting. “Care to tell me what the fuck happened to you?” Abi pulled away, her cold demeanor returning. “Nothing that needs mentioning, girlfriend. So, what’s going on today?” She caught herself from adding, ‘Tonka said I needed to be here’ hoping that their morning romp wasn’t public knowledge. “Rumble. We need all hands on deck for the ‘after party’,” she said, making air quotes with her fingers. “Another one? Damn, a bit overkill, don’t ya think?” Normally, Rumbles were held once a week, sometimes less. “Yeah. Duke, Bull, and Hammer went down to the Iron Maiden last night for a few drinks. A couple of the Prospects were out on watch and intercepted a drug deal with four of the Silent Outlaws.”
