This was a very powerful book. Lots of tragedy and secrets. I found myself wishing at the end of the camping season that Amy would have had a more satisfying showdown with Rory. A real butt kicking, but I know that that isn't what the book was really about. It was more about mothers and daughters and family, and it was nice that that part was resolved. I just wish Rory would have gotten more of what was coming to her. Camp was about a young teenage girl who got sent away to a camp for the summer where she was bullied by one of the camp members. I liked this book, and it made me realize how cruel some people can be, and go to the extreme. There was a lot of sexual content, and maybe I'm naive but when I was 14, that was the last thing I was thinking about. When her brother died, that was the saddest part, her poor mother had to deal with not only losing her daughter and her first husband but then a second child as well. I didn't like, however how the book ended. It seemed as it just left us wondering if they ever became friends again after she shut down on them.
What do You think about Camp (2012)?
Pretty good, though I think the ending could have been better...
