Callum usually turned up at around nine in the morning, and Rachel would more often than not have Jacob safely deposited at the child minder’s and coffee ready for him. Sometimes they’d spend the morning together, usually in her bedroom but over the course of those weeks they tried out pretty much every room in her house.
