If my sister felt even a fragment of the passion and desire I felt for Jaxon as she did her loser, I could understand. I knew I was in love with him. He didn’t make any advances on me at all. Like he promised, he spent all his time with me and we saw as many of the sights we could. It was wonderful and perfect. We almost shared a kiss, but we were interrupted by some kid who kicked Jaxon in the shins. That was last night. This morning was a whole new story. It was like a different man woke up in the other room. During our night on the balcony, I told him that I was leaving in three days to visit Italy next, but I think he must have forgotten because he hasn’t acted like today was our last day together. He’d been on calls half the morning. What did I expect anyway? He wasn’t really mine. I didn’t give him the go ahead. I was sure that he would move onto the next woman in town. It was like he was trying to distance himself today. It was time to cut the cord and pull off the bandage in one fast movement.
