    ‘You weren’t breathing when I came in,’ he says, dumbfounded.
    ‘I held my breath as soon as I heard footsteps,’ Sarah replies in a slightly quivering voice. ‘Didn’t you once tell me that people are less likely to kill you if you’re already dead?’ ‘Yes, but I didn’t know you were listening.’ ‘I watched these men die,’ Sarah says in a flat tone.
