Fifty Shades Of Chicken: A Parody In A Cookbook (2012) - Plot & Excerpts

This is book is pun-o-graphic! And it seriously takes the idea of food porn to a whole new level. This has got to be on of the only cookbooks that I've read from cover to cover. I haven't tried the recipes yet, but a lot of them look good and pretty doable in my small small kitchen. Beware, the jokes are corny and you'll roll your eyes more than once. You also may never look at garlic bulbs or olive oil the same way again. You have been warned... Oh, my chicken gravy! A colleague gave me this as an end of the school year joke gift. Horrifyingly, this person gave the gift bag to another colleague, asking that he deliver it. He walked up to me and said, unknowingly, "This is for you, because I love you so much." I reached in the bag, pulled this out, and we both nearly fell over in scandalized shock! "That's not really from me! Someone gave it to me to give to you!" Needless to say, someone's a chicken!First, I must confess I did not read Fifty Shades. I swear. I did read a few pages of it at a get-together when some of the women were going on and on about it and saying I HAD to read it. I got all I needed to get in the ten or so pages I read that night. Simple sentence structure, pretty sophomoric. I don't mean to sound snobby, but ... please. If someone blindfolded me, trussed me up and started hitting me, I'm fairly certain I'd say something more than ... "Holy Cow!" ...This little parody has scandalously named blurbs, excerpts from a running story, and half-nekkid men holding chickens throughout. Very tan men, by the way. I've not made any of the recipes but have read they're quite tasty.Heaven help us all....All in all, this cookbook is five shades of hysterical and a perfect joke gift, though I will be plotting my revenge!
