difficult to rate this audiobook.Joel is quite a character with a lot of interesting ideas, well presented and well written. He made me laugh and made me angry and that is something important for me in a book. Joel is also a good passionate reader. For all this the book deserves 4 stars. In the second half of the book the author commits the crime of filling up pages for the sake of filling pages. The second half of the book is quite a rant towards the system, Joel proposes solutions but the book has a different feel from the first half.So only 3 stars. One of the best books I've read in a while. Salatin provides so many realistic ideas for how to get back to a relatively normal relationship with our food. I found myself absolutely frustrated with so many of the hoops that he and other's like him have to jump through just because they do things differently than the industrial food producers. I think most Americans don't have a clue about what goes in their mouths let alone all the politics that is going on behind the scene and this book will enlighten you.
I would probably agree with most of Salatin's ideas if he weren't so arrogant about them all!
