this is incredible so far. after playing the video game, i honestly thought this would be a repeat of information i already knew. boy was i wrong. superman is certainly at his finest here. and although the subject matter is incredibly dark, there are actually a handful of humorous scenes in this. definitely can't wait to read injustice year two. even if you're one of those fraudulent superhero fans that just like the movies and cartoons, you'll love this one. check it out for sure. Might change that to a five-star eventually but WOW. First the artwork is gorgeous. For someone without an intricate understanding of the DC Universe it is extremely easy to follow (probably because it is meant to serve as a prequel to a popular video game). Although there are TONS of graphic novels dealing with superheroes gone bad, how can anyone resist Superman losing his sh*t and taking the law AND world peace into his own hands? It's like Superman meets the infamous "Ricktatorship" scenes from The Walking Dead! The rest of the Justice League must decide if they should help him (eg Wonder Woman) or if they need to put a stop to what he is doing (eg Batman). Despite the dark subject matter (major characters are killed), it has some great humor. Including Nightwing explaining to Batman that when he chooses to just not respond to questions, he comes across as a douche. Would have read it in one sitting but had to VERY reluctantly come back from lunch break.
What do You think about Injustice: Gods Among Us, Vol. 1 (2013)?
One of the best Elseworlds the DCU has ever come up with. The video game doesn't suck either.
