A grin crossed my face as his eyes flicked open. “Morning.” His lips touched mine softly. He looked behind him at the clock then turned back to me. “I … um, do you mind if I don’t stay for breakfast or anything? I want to get home to check on Jasmine. I normally don’t leave her alone at night and …” The worry was obvious. “Of course.” I couldn’t quite wrap my head around how a guy would put his dog before another chance to get laid, but that was okay. “So, do you normally not stay the night with a woman then?” I watched a blush touch his cheeks. “I um, normally invite women back to my place.” He spoke softly, I couldn’t help but laugh at his discomfort. “Well, that makes the most sense.” I rolled out of bed and wrapped myself in a black robe as he started pulling his clothes back on. I couldn’t help staring at him and squinted as he brushed his hair to the side.
