La Piedra De Moises (2011) - Plot & Excerpts

More of the same, although an interesting part of the world (Morocco, Israel) and an interesting part of history (it began at Masada) so, again, nothing too strenuous and easy for a weekend afternoon or a commuter trek. I did feel there was a lot of shoot-outs and manly things (dear god, these people escaped death about every 20 pages) so that got a bit tiresome as it begins to feel like filler after awhile ~ and there were a few times that I felt the protagonists had learned *nothing* from their previous experiences in how to research and avoid getting tracked, but alas, if they learned then the shoot-outs wouldn't happen.Again, run of the mill and certainly not the worst of the Dan Brown-spawned histo-adventure books. Search for the Silver Scroll and the Mosaic Covenant. Brit cop Chris Bronson is sucked into the incomprehensible search for ancient Jewish artifacts when two Brits are killed in Rabat, Morocco having stumbled upon an ancient clay tablet. The tablet reaches back to the time when the defenders of Masada in southern Isreal took depserate steps to hide Jewish treasures as their fortress was being besieged by the the Romans. Fast forward 3000 years and one of the clay tablets thay hid is stolent and uncovered in Rabat, leading to a string of murders in Rabat, London and Tel Aviv before Bronson's ex- Angela begins the improbable search to find, locate and translate the accompnaying clay tablets that have gone misssing for millineum. Unbeknownstest to Chris and Angela, they are being pursued by treasure snipers from Morocco and Britain, but are all being watched by the Mossad. As they home in on the location of the antiquities, life gets dangerous as all of the seekers watch Bronson's moves and track them too Har Megiddo, which is the place of attonement mentioned in Revelations as Amrageddon. They find both the Silver Scroll and the Mosaic Covenants but their seekers meet the Mossad and the invaluable antiquities fall back into the hands of the Isrealis.
