This book was a bit creepy. For a young person with an active imagination, I think it could be very scarey. Certainly ties into reading pleasure. Not sure what it could connect with in the classroom beyond alternate point of view or re-writing scenes that seemed week - like when Hans discovers who his father really is...wow, I never read anything so flat. I am sure I will find some kids who will like it though. I loved this book but really not really until act 2 the woof king is was sort of bland up until this point and in desperate need of a prologue. But this author really pushed in the last part of the book. It is about Hans a 12 year old boy that washed up on shore in a wooden box when he was and infant and his past is unknown all that he nows is that a grave robber Knobee the bent adopts him and a royal girl named Angela who is also 12 meet and are both fleeing for very different reasons from the dreaded necromancer that has held captive Angela's parents and Hans in search of his new past. I strongly recommend this book for people that like fantasy!!!
Great fun. Terrific adventure fantasy (scary, funny) with characters you can care about.
