Madeline had been stationed in the truck all morning preparing each subsequent load for Kirk to carry. And even though Kirk was enjoying his ground level view of Madeline’s legs in her small jean shorts each time he went to retrieve another box, he was anxious to get to the last one. Madeline sat down on the edge of the truck bed for a second and took a sip from a sweating glass of lemonade. “There’s only one box left,” Kirk said. “This is no time to take a break.” “I know. I know,” Madeline said, rubbing his thick hair. “I just wanted to enjoy the moment, you know? I mean, once we unpack that box we’ll be totally moved into our very first house.
