Norm shook his head. He sighed and turned, finding the jail cell cot and dropping onto it with a thump. He looked suddenly old. Old and haggard and deflated. It was bad enough he was in jail charged by his friends with a crime. Now he was ruined completely.
“It’s my damn fault,” Longarm said. “If I’d been sleeping someplace else ...”
