Neil Flambe And The Marco Polo Murders (2010) - Plot & Excerpts

This is a really good book of a young detective and chef named Neil Flambé. I really like the mystery and suspense and witty plot. I also really enjoy that it has to do with cooking and culinary arts because I enjoy cooking and baking. Plus, you can really relate to the troubles of Neil cause he still a kid. A very "good read"... Reading Neil Flambé and the Crusader's Curse. Neil Flambe is a great creation as a culinary wunderkind, and the plot draws you along as famous chef after famous chef falls to the poison of an unknown killer. Humor is sprinkled in at every corner, and the characters (although some are little more than caricatures) are interesting. My biggest complaint about the book would be the almost apathetic response of the characters to the murders of those they knew well. There is an urge to solve the crimes, but not much emotional response to the tragedy. To have this in a children's book seems doubly egregious.
