I enjoyed this book -- how could you not? It is page after page of childhood nostalgia that will leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy. I guess you could consider it a bit of a cheap trick, playing on people's heartstrings like this. I don't feel like that is the case. For what this book is, essentially a quote book, it felt well curated and represented a large cross-section of "geek culture". Though, if you are the type of person who is interested in this type of book, you will no doubt have your own list of things the authors "forgot". I know I did. This romp through pop culture revels is the contributions of Geekdom. Except where it doesn't. Really this is just a collection of quotes from movies, novels and pop culture that the authors like. Some of these are Geek staples (like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, etc). Others are just things the author likes, like the Big Lebowski (because who doesn't like that abiding dude). Fun little collection, but not really Geeky enough or wise enough to be a compendium of Geek Wisdom.
What do You think about Sabiduría Friki (2014)?
Hilarious with some good advice for geeks and non-geeks.
