Finally, a cozy mystery with decent characters and a good plot! I liked that the donut shop was present but not the main focal point of the series. I also really like that I was able to jump in on the third book in the series and know what is going on, especially since I had bought the third in the series by accident.I knew the killer relatively early, but there was enough distraction that it wasn't an issue. I really liked Suzanne and Grace. My only wish was that the book was a tad longer to end the crazy rush to the last bit of the book. Even a quick interlude to the dinner table would have been nice. This one was not as much fun as former Doughnut Shop Mysteries. There seemed to be way too much angst going on to balance off the murder investigation. Very few high points in this book and, although it took place near December 25th, they actually forgot about celebrating the holiday at all. I'll not give up on Jessica Beck but I won't be tracking down any further Doughnut Shop mysteries for a long time.
Read this a while ago since I have to read in order. I have liked all of the books.

Pleasant cozy which leaves the reader wondering "Who can eat that many donuts?"

Lots of fun, picking up nice pace as the series goes on.
