This child friendly story delivers a powerful message about being content and grateful for who you are. Spoon is beginning to get a little jealous of all the things fork, knife and chopsticks can do and all the fun they have cutting, spreading, and stabbing things until his mother and the other utensils point out some of the things they can't do and some of the things a spoon does that they never get to do. He's always been a happy little utensil. But lately, he feels like life as a spoon just isn't cutting it. He thinks Fork, Knife, and The Chopsticks all have it so much better than him and goes into what's better about them and all the things they can do that he can't. But they think highly of Spoon for the things that he can do. Spoon serves as a gentle reminder to celebrate what makes us each special.
