Taman Rahasia (The Secret Garden) (1910) - Plot & Excerpts
Bello, bello, bello.Lo consiglio a tutti. Bambini, adulti, anziani, uomini e donne! The Secret Garden has to be one of the most perfect children's book I have ever read. As a child I never quite fancied reading this classic as it appeared a bit wordy for me at the time (Enid Blyton was more my thing in my younger years). I think that I got more from this book reading it first time as an adult, rather than as a child. Although it appears like a 'nice and quiet' story about a young girl and her small group of friends creating a garden, it so so much more than this. What impressed me the most was how companionship/friendship was seen as important in helping humans grow. Mary and Colin are both very selfish and haughty in the early parts of the story. Friendship is seen as major factor in helping us become well-rounded and selfless individuals. This is also seen as something that is not defined by an individual's class or station in life. I really enjoyed this book.

A weak little girl turns to such a beautiful bloom.
