The first five books in this series were great. Six and seven were pretty good too, but since then I feel that Heimerdinger only kept going to milk it for all it was worth. The story lines became tired and ridiculous, but I pushed onward. Until this book. It wasn't that the writing became bad, but I feel that he has overstepped the boundaries of doctrinal speculation and into territory that he has no business pushing in a book. Even if it is fiction. I love the Tennis Shoes Series. I read them years ago. However I decided to re-read them all at the beginning of 2011. All in order start to finish all the way to the very new book that Chris just released. What a wild ride! I love how Chris is able to take the stories and characters we have always known, introduce a new family that we quickly adore and can't wait to see what else happens. Chris brings to life the scriptures that we hold so dear taking us on the most grand adventure of our lives, and imprints on our hearts and minds deeper stories that will resurface as you read your scriptures, learn in sunday school and still touches our hearts with the Holy Spirit. If you haven't read them in a while. I whole heartedly suggest start over on page 1 of book 1 and fasten your seat belt and open you heart.
Very good book! I hope Mr. Heimerdinger doesn't keep us waiting so long this time!
