Daemon scurried around, producing packs containing the robes they had used earlier and loaded with food and juice. Some fruit was included but mainly there were bars of dried fruit that the servitor proudly said were his own invention. “Sometimes those moronic minotaurs forget to bring Prometheus food for days at a time. I learned early on to make these bars for those intervals. They will not go bad, so eat all the fresh fruit before you eat the bars, okay?” They all told him they understood and thanked the little machine for all of his help. Maria went further. To the group's astonishment, she walked up to Daemon, reached down and gave him a huge hug. “Thanks, my friend,” she said warmly. “You helped me to learn to use my gift. Maybe I'll be able to help my friends and for that, I'll remember you, always.” The servitor's expressive face seem to go blank with shock; obviously he'd never been hugged before. Then he reached out, took Maria's hand in both of his and shook it gravely.
