If you enjoy books that will make you fall asleep, I would recommend The Cat's Table. But if you're looking for an interesting an exciting book, this is not the book for you. I found myself reading 10 pages and then dozing off. The characters are boring, and the plot is bland as well. Michael Ondaatje does a decent job of writing. I was able to paint a picture in my head, but it wasn't a picture I liked. I found the book to be a typical nonfiction novel where the author failed to add any interest to the story. Overall, The Cat's Table is not a book I would recommend. But hey, it's not for everyone. Maybe different readers will enjoy it more than I did. This is by far the worst book I have read in a while. I found myself bored and unable to read for more than 15 minutes at a time. I also was very confused with the almost constant movement from place to place with no real reason and the overuse of pointless metaphors. Another reason i disliked this book is I really didn't care about the characters or what happened to them. I really did not enjoy this book and would not recommend it.
What do You think about The Cat's Table (2011)?
Started great! Turned to rambling midway through. Disappointed because of such a great start.
