Jenny looked out the window and saw the dust from gravel kick up, making a swirling pattern in the air, and then she saw her brother walk out of the barn and stop dead. A few minutes after that, Jenny saw why. A woman stepped out of her car and then walked to the back and unbuckled her son from his booster seat. This must be Lorna, Jenny thought. Not wanting to get in the way, but being nosy all the same, Jenny kept staring out the window, hoping to catch a glimpse of what her brother and this Lorna were up to. “Hi,” Lorna said softly. She smiled and held on tight to her son’s little hand. Liam’s face was bright and his eyes lit up. “This place is awesome!” he said happily, looking at Jake. Jake swallowed then cleared his throat. “I’m glad you like it, buddy. You want to meet some of my friends?” Liam nodded enthusiastically while Jake held out his hand.
