this was one of those books that i found during, what i call a library stroll.walking through the library waiting for something to catch my eye. i grabbed this one and the next book in a favorite series of mine.I wasn't sure what to expect. it looked dark and creepy, but i was intrigued none the less.after i started reading, i knew this would be one i would finish quickly. (i set books aside and start others... oops)the characters are amazing, and the world is so detailed, but by far my favorite thing was pacing of the story itself. there was never once were i was bored and wanted to read ahead or felt things were moving too quickly. for me. that's what makes the best kind of story. just enough mystery to keep you guessing, but enough to get an idea of what might be happening. And this book was a perfect blend of that.when i finished it. i immediately went to my library to get the next book.... they didn't have it. tried my local bookstore. no go. I ended up registering my library card in another county and checking the second book out later that afternoon, just because i couldn't wait to see what else might happen. (finished a third of it before i got home too. oops)i really hope there will be more! I want to know what will happen to William. so far each book has stood eloquently on their own, but there are too many mysteries in Will left to not have more stories.I can't wait to see what happens next. I did not find that anything stood out as rather unique or new in feeling, but the setting (particularly the time) was interesting, and the story flowed nicely. Nothing overly special here, but the characters were nice and comfortable. There is a follow-up book however, so the end of this book has a chunk of "preliminary" for the next which felt a little weary as there was much to be explained that was not; whereas it could have tied together the ends of the story that we saw here and merely hinted at the next.
What do You think about The Crowfield Curse (2010)?
Very well written. Hard to follow sometimes so that's why I recommend it to teens
