Caroline Meadows is a recently unemployed single women who has just broken up with a long time boyfriend. She discovers a beautiful handmade quilt in her mother's attic and decides to solve the mystery of the message embroidered into the quilt. The search leads to her grandmother's past and the past of a women, Maria, who was a long time patient in a mental institution. Caroline separates fact from fiction and in the process, discovers herself. Excellent story, interesting history and unique presentation makes this a great read. This was the type of book that you just can't put down... I was hooked from the very first chapter. I have read many books lately that take place in the present with flashbacks to the past and both stories woven together. The author used an interesting format via audio tapes to delve into Maria's past. There was good character development and this story really makes you think. Highly recommended.
Very cool story. Fiction to the fullest. Easy reading.
