Mr. Caper is jealous of Lollipop. All the kids love the sweet, yummy, deliciousness of Lollipop, but they can't stand the sour, acidic taste of Mr. Caper. It doesn't matter that the adults love him. He wants the love of the children too! He decides to sneak into the lollipop factory to make sure every lollipop tastes like capers. This is sure to make the children love him. But his plans backfires. What is Mr. Caper going to do? I love this funny book. My 4-year old son and I laughed all the way through this silly book! Kids, of course, love lollipops -- but, author Dan Krall posits, they do not like capers. We had just been to the grocery store earlier in the week and I bought a bottle of capers; he had asked a million questions about them (even though we buy and use them regularly). Little caper lovers (or those unsure about capers) take heart: my 9-year old daughter loves them nearly as much as she loves lollipops, and that's okay too! Mr. Caper appreciates it.
What do You think about The Great Lollipop Caper (2013)?
I love this book! It is hilarious and perfect for readers theater.
