The Last Newspaper Boy In America (2009) - Plot & Excerpts
Wil David is turning 12 and will then inherit the town newspaper route, handed down for several generations. But the newspaper he delivers decides to eliminate his route and that means no one in his town will receive the newspaper. Will is not about to let this happen and sets out to rally his town and others to prevent this from happening. Along the way, he discovers some unlikely friends, exposes some shady goings on at the County Fair and, maybe, do more for his town than he imagined. Fun, neat, small-town story revolving around the threat of the big newspaper discontinuing their delivery, and what the paper means to the people of this town. Nice to read of a genuine small town without the cliches and stereotypes. Also nice to have normal kids. A bit of a carnival mystery, too, ties into the story. Quick, nice easy read with titles each chapter with a headline and intersperses the story with newspaper articles, letters, and essays. Enjoy the paper.

I think this was a great read! There was humor and suspense; both at appropriate times.

An enjoyable book, but a bit "story less". I found the level of reading a bit low.
