I thought this book was predictable and somewhat ridiculous. However, my 6 and 9 year olds loved it. They found it exciting and also liked that it was possible to solve it. It has sparked some new interests for them. Overall, I have found all of the books in this series (so far) to be fun for sharing with young children. They don't notice all of the things that are far-fetched. My older child does catch some of them but they usually don't bother him enough to take away from his enjoyment of the book. And, my children have liked the idea of a mystery for each letter of the alphabet. They've enjoyed working our way through.
