I was really excited about this book because, well, magic in the Revolution? Now there's something you don't hear a lot about. I thought the book started out a little slow, but after it got past the beginning, it was nonstop action. I had just read several books about the Salem witch trials, and I really appreciated the references to that. I liked the characters as well. I found them likeable and believable, and I was satisfied with how they turned out.Overall, I enjoyed the book and plan on reading the sequel! The first half of this book was a bit slow to plow through, but after the funeral scene I really started to like Proctor a lot more and became excited to find out what would happen next. I really love American Revolutionary history as well as anything to do with witchcraft, so I liked the book a lot. I especially enjoyed witchcraft from the male perspective. Now that this unique world has been established, I think I'll enjoy the next two books in the series even more than this first one.
What do You think about The Patriot Witch (2009)?
Don't bother. I made myself read all three, hoping that they would get better. They didn't.

The first of Charlie's books that I haven't read in advance. Fab!
