Twilight: The Complete Illustrated Movie Companion - Plot & Excerpts

Helens, OR, substituting as Port Angeles, WA The Olympia rain forest region is a photographic dream, with ancient trees and mossy growth, soaring mountains, rocky coast, and an elemental rain and damp pervading everything. Catherine Hardwicke began Twilight with a trip to Forks with Jamie Marshall, the first assistant director; Andi Isaacs, a Summit senior vice president of production; and Gillian Bohrer, a Summit creative executive. They also visited the surrounding forests, La Push Beach on the Quileute Indian reservation, and the town of Port Angeles. “We went to the exact places in the book and took photographs and absorbed the atmosphere. Forks has a real sense of community, everybody knows everybody. There are families that go back a hundred years. A local chamber of commerce person named Diane Shostack was our guide in Forks and Port Angeles, and her family has been in logging and forestry and has lived there a hundred years. As you might imagine, everyone in Forks was excited by Twilight, which brings in visitors every week.”
