I gave it 4.5/5 starsI enjoyed SUNSET RISING so much that I immediately emailed the author to see if she was looking for reviewers for book 2 and when that arrived in my inbox I jumped right into it.Jack and Sunny have escaped the Dome, but what finds them on the outside has them right back in the thick of the politics they just escaped. They have to play roles to stay alive and with their new relationship it does put a bit of strain on the couple. Thankfully they always find their way back to each other. I think both Jack and Sunny did a great job of adapting to their new environment and continuing to work towards their goal of liberating the pit. A lot ends up happening in WORLDS COLLIDE. There are a ton of new characters introduced and plenty of action throughout. It's really crazy to find out how close the pit was to freedom all along and never knew it. I really enjoyed the twists that the book throws out and was never bored with any situation that popped up.I can't say enough good things about this series. WORLDS COLLIDE had a few slow parts but it trapped me in the story just about as much as SUNSET RISING. My only real complaint is that book two ends on as big a cliffhanger as book 1. Kinda frustrating to not have book 3 right now, but I will be reading it when it comes out.* This book was provided free of charge from the author in exchange for an honest review. Worlds Collide had some pretty big shoes to fill as the follow up to Sunset Rising. You will NOT be disappointed. Worlds Collide not only met expectation but may have surpassed. The story of Sunny and Jack continues as they fight to free the pit, and finds them outside the Dome and discovering that they're not alone. They come to find out that Holt has not only been lying to those in the Pit but his own people as well. The gradual build of the story and the imagery that is created with the incredible writing style of Susan McEachern is a gift that few writers seem capable of. With visuals like "the ghostly outlines of bygone furniture hinted that the hotel was once quite grand, but now crumbling tiles and dark stains ground into stone had robbed it of it's beauty" and "Human misery is a stubborn stain.......skeletons were found here, the floor darkened by their decay" , how can someone NOT be totally sucked INTO the story? Rarely do I remember or take note of passages in a book, but the ease and beauty of how this story progresses made such an impression on me. So many "AHA" moments and "uh oh" moments and fist pumping "yeah!" moments as resolution and freedom become more and more attainable left me so conflicted because I was eager to see what happened next but knew that meant I was one page closer to the end of the book. And now I'm done, hanging off a cliff and waiting for news on a release date for #3.
What do You think about Worlds Collide (2000)?
Loved it. I almost wish that the story ended here. I am looking forward to the third book.

Sunny and Jack's story continues in this post apocalyptic tale. I couldn't put it down.
