1929 Jonathan's Cross - Book One (2000) - Plot & Excerpts
storyline is very interesting, character development so-so, and story telling ability of the author is ok. all of these things kept me engaged and interested in more, but this book drove me nuts because some of it didn't flow well; I got they were trying to make you forget an aspect in order to surprise you later, but it didn't work well. in summary, good book, albeit a little annoying. 3.5 stars. I would rate this at 2.5 stars. I felt it could have done with a firm editorial hand, but the storyline was interesting, the sense of the depression following on from the stock-market crash came across well. It's just that I found it difficult to keep in my head who was who at times, particularly the women, who shared so many characteristics. It came across as somewhat melodramatic at times, but I did feel at the end that I would like to know what happened to them next. One day.

Well known period of time story told in a very human and realistic way.
