21 Principles: Divine Truths To Help You Live By The Spirit (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
A very excellent summary of many doctrinal truths taught by Elder Richard G. Scott during the course of his ministry as a member of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles. He emphasizes the eternal love of God for his children, the importance of the Atonement of Jesus Christ in our lives, the reality of Satan and our ability to resist his temptations and restrict his power through the exercise of faith in Jesus Christ, living the commandments, and seeking and living the promptings of the Holy Ghost. A very inspiring read. This book is just what it says it is: 21 basic divine truths that guide a person toward more spiritual living. It starts out so basic and general that the danger is that the truths seem almost too obviously true, but Elder Scott writes so eloquently, with real life examples that challenge the reader, that as one continues in reading, the principles link together coherently and build to echo with cleansing goodness. I wish I could internalize these with one reading, but they'll take a lifetime to absorb and live.
