50 Ways To Hex Your Lover (2008) - Plot & Excerpts
DNF.Got about 3/4 of the way through, but the book was just dragging and dragging. I kept waiting for something to happen, anything to happen, and finally decided that I'd rather be reading a book where things DID happen, instead of one where I just hold out hope that they do. I may try to finish it later, who knows. Also, the main character was somewhat annoying. I found her extremely immature for a 700 year old witch. Someone who has lived that long should not act like a teenage. Plus, she's kind of a bitch. She doesn't treat her friends well, even though I'm sure she'd battle to the death for them. She whiny, lazy, and just inconsiderate most of the time. That being said, she's also a tough smart mouthed witch packing some major power, which I think is the only reason I got as far as I did in the book. Anyways, it wasn't horrible, but it wasn't good either, and I just couldn't bring myself to waste more time reading the last quarter of the book, no matter how much I wanted to see IF something would happen. Fun enough and I enjoyed it, but not the best written, but had an original storyline that I wanted to see throughJazz is a witch who remove curses in the human world for money which she doantes to the witches benevolence fund (or something like that!). She is quite old (centuries) and works driving for Dweezil another non-human creature.Nick is an old vampire "acquaintance" of Jazz, and turns up back in her life hoping she will help him help vampire-kind - they are ging missing and no one knows why and howIrma is the ghost in Jazz's T-bird which was a result of a failed curse removal non-payment. Irma is a brilliant character.Krebs is Jazz's put upon house mate - put upon because Jazz is not that useful to have around despite being a witch!Jazz & Nick have to face an old adversary who has got more powerful since the last time they met ...
