I was curious to see how Ms. McClure adopted her writing style to contemporaries- and I found her work as delightful as always. The heroes are a little less intense and a little more flirtatious, the banter is rousing and hilarious..Just the one issue I had was that it was a bit..anticlimatic. The meat of the story was in the pursuit of Jagger Brodie, and whole six degrees of separation theme. I'd rather the story not have continued beyond Tabby and Jagger getting together I think it's fair to say that Marcia's style of writing has changed. However I want to note that I enjoy her contemporaries very much! What I really enjoyed about this book was that it was beautiful in it's simplicity and straightforwardness. We all know they end up together in the end so watching the journey is where the fun is. Not every love story has the heroine in danger or the hero in period clothing, sometimes they simply fall in love because they just do. It doesn't make the story any less special. I did very much enjoy Marcia's little affections inserted into the story. The Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon was such a fun bit! It brought back memories and inspired me to discover my own Kevin Bacon number (Kevin Bacon was in The End of the Line with Bruce McGill who was in FDR: American Badass with Kevin Sorbo who hugged me 4 times at Salt Lake Comic Con in Sept 2014. ;)). Although I thought the story was sweet there remains just one (okay maybe one and 1/2) things that kind of bug me. I really would like to see Marcia use a different word for 'giggle'. It is overused in many of her books. Just out of curiosity I counted the word giggle or a form of it used 95 times in this book. Once it was six times on one page! Thesaurus.com would be a good use here. :/ But really a sweet story. Every time she talked about Jagger singing I mentally pulled up the image of Phillip Phillips and his very amazing masculine voice. :) I would probably read this again in the future.
