A Bordo Del Titanic (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

I love this book!! I, for one, enjoy reading books about history. Especially spin offs or retellings! The modern take on this was AWESOME! Average teenage girl, Louise Lambert, receives an invitation to a vintage sale. She meets two awkward sales ladies, Glenda and Marla. After slipping on a beautiful pink dress, her world transforms into the time of the Titanic sinking. Actually, a few days before that... Anyway, will she ever get home? Or will her story sink? :-) Find out by reading this book. I thought this book was sooo super good! LOVED IT! I read this book in 1-2 weeks. I checked this book out, at a library, but I'm thinking about buying it. It's just that good. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. I loved that Louise got to experience such an amazing part of history. I wish I could do that. Except for the part about the Titanic sinks. I wish Louise had paid more attention in Ms. Morris' class. That would've come in handy. I know about the Titanic sinking, because it's just common sense, but I have never learned about the Titanic. Not even seen the movie. So this book had good insight. It was kinda ironic though, that Louise always wanted to have a more exciting life, and live in an old Hollywood movie. Now she was, but she was gonna die. It was really cool how she got to meet all those famous people. I realize that it would've been nice if Louise had some background information about Miss Baxter. That way she could've at least played the part convincingly. My favorite character was Anna. Whenever Louise would use a modern day slang-word, and Anna would get confused, makes me smile. For instance, awesome, hot, cool, etc. Anna was so nice. Louise and her became such good friends. I can't believe that Louise is related to Miss Baxter. I also love the pink dress on the cover. It is soo beautiful, I wish I had it. I wished that people would actually believe Louise, when she told them the ship was going to sink. I felt what she felt, completely and utterly trapped. Especially the parts with Dr Hastings. I did NOT like him. (I mean pitted prunes? Yuck.) I was very happy for Anna and Christopher. Christopher really took a bullet for Anna and Louise. That was super sweet. I also enjoyed the character Brooke. She seems like me. I like shopping for new clothes, too. Glenda and Marla were just weird. But, now Louise is their newest fashionista, and I can't wait to see what the future holds. I recommend this book for ages 12 and up.

What do You think about A Bordo Del Titanic (2013)?

My Grandma bought The Time-Traveling Fashionista as my present for Christmas. I'm not into fashion, but you really shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. Louise Lambert is not your typical teenage girl - she has a love for vintage clothing designs. She is thrown back in time when she tries on 'the perfect' pink dress for her school dance at the mysterious vintage fashionista sale. She finds herself on the Titanic, and soon discovers you can't change the past.

I enjoyed reading this book. It was fun and cute, and I absolutely loved all of the dress sketches! This is one of those books that you just pick up and enjoy for the sake of reading. The only reason I'm giving it three stars is because it is not a book that had me up all night reading. Also, there was a bit of a plain style to the writing. But don't let that discourage you from reading this. This is a book that will make you smile.

I really liked this book especially because of the history it incorporates in the story

Demasiado simple, pero el tema del Titanic estaba bastante bien ambientado.
