This book features around the Wheelwright family who are located for their summer vacation in Nantucket Island. The story is mostly based on Charlotte, who has her garden, her brothers and family. Charlotte has a past secret which its not revealed until the final pages of the book... this makes you want to keep turning pages.Am pleased with the end result of the story :) though I wish that there were some extra pages :)This was my first book that I've read of Nancy Thayler and will definitely be checking other books of this author. Wished I had read this book on the beach...with a cocktail. Not the worst thing I've ever read, but not the best. I found the book uneven. It was a bit of romantic fluff, which I don't mind, but some of the dialogue was unrealistic, and I had a hard time connecting with--and caring about--our main characters.Everyone just seemed SO WASPy and so frustrating, and there was no big pay off for this book. If you want some romantic fluff but excellent writing, read Beautiful Ruins. If you buy this for $2 or it's laying around a cottage you rented for the weekend, go for it.
What do You think about A Casa Dos Dias Felizes (2012)?
Enjoyed this book...not too deep, quick read. I did enjoy the main character and her grandmother.
