3.75 starsBook three was a bit of a disappointment for me. I felt like Derek and Sophia's anguish about being together went on too long. Many of the words could have been deleted as they seemed very repetitive in each chapter. Don't get me wrong, I am enjoying this series, but I just wanted to get to the heart of this installment sooner rather than later. I may need to take a break before I read book four. :) Sofia Claremont love Derek Novak like no other man in her life. Sofia abandoned at young age by both her father and mother sent to live Ben Hudson's family. For Sofia life at The Shade is much different now that she's returned to Derek after Vivienne being captured by hunters. Meanwhile Ben is finding life among the hunters isn't all it's cracked up to be. Ben's special status by Reuben aka Aiden Claremont means very little to Ben. Aiden wants to see all vampires destroyed no matter what. Lucas Novak aligns himself with The Maslyn Clan so he can have Sofia to himself. Gregor Novak is learning being king isn't like he envisioned especially since he hates Sofia. Will Gregor's hate destroy him? Will Sofia and Derek's love be enough? What will Ben sacrifice? Your answers await you in A Castle of Sand.It was nice to see chinks in Derek's armor. Sofia learned more about herself in this book. The characters and story are really good. It will be interesting to see what the next book in the series brings.
Several typos but I keep reading these books because the story is decent.
