Great light read. Broderick is ever a gentleman and a strong warrior. He is a great match for the Scarlet Princess, Monet. While there is war on the horizon King Dacian sends Broderick on a mission to protect Monet while they are in exile via secretly marrying Broderick and Monet.....They find a village to stay in and make their lives pretending to be peasants. Broderick becomes a horse breeder. There they meet a blacksmith who will aid them. Romance starts to kindle between Broderick and Monet albeit kind of slow since Broderick is such a gentleman and would not go over his bounds.HEA. A heroic knight, fierce princess and unrequited love...man I forgot how much I love reading these tales!I have become jaded with contemporary romances and I was looking for something to cleanse my reading pallet so I was just looking for something different. What I found was something amazing!I was totally hooked by the second page and I couldn't put the book down. I finished at 2am!!!I forgot how nice it was to enjoy the build up of tension for just a simple kiss. It was so satisfying to read about a hero, Sir Broderick that was everything a hero should be: brave, honorable, loyal, handsome, and a wee bit of a rogue. Our damsel, Princess Monet but she was a hero in her own right. She was prim and proper but she was also brave and not afraid to get her hands dirty. If you haven't read a fairy tale knight-in-shining-armor tale in a while I HIGHLY RECOMMEND reading this one.
