Book had been sitting on my To Be Read shelf for about five months, and after exhausting all of my normal have to read books I looked up others reviews of the book and it was mostly good so I gave it a shot. There was alot of world building in the begining and being that it was told in two POV's it was a little hard to stay focused on like the Author and I both had ADHD. But just as I was about to say the heck with the series it finally pulled itself together and I was hooked. And with it ending on a cliffhanger I have no choice but to read the second book.. The first 3/4 of A Death Displaced was a solid 4 stars, but the climax of the story took place at about the 80% mark; the last 20% was detailing the aftermath of the story, and should have been wrapped up in a half dozen pages at the most. The book is well edited, with only minor grammar and word-choice issues, not enough to detract from the story. The author would benefit from a professional editor who could help restructure the ending, but overall this was an enjoyable read, and I'll watch for Mr. Butcher's future work.
What do You think about A Death Displaced (2012)?
Awkward writing style. Unrealistic interpersonal dialogues. Had trouble staying to the end.

This book couldn't hold my interest. It was a very slow read.

Juvenile. Like a supernatural Nancy Drew.
