What a wonderful way to close out the series. I only wish that real life could be so happy. Although, I don't believe these characters "lived happily ever after". These stories moved along quite well, and I really grew to love them myself. I cried, laughed, and got excited right along side them. And I especially loved how the author included a belief and faith in God in the storyline. This country was built upon values based upon a belief in God and these beliefs guided everyone in what they chose to do. I only wish the leaders of the countries now a days wouldn't be so casual about pushing these values to the side! Tracie Peterson is like a mentor to me and a wonderful writer. Maybe that's why I was expecting so much from this book. And it was an excellent western story with different plots being played out. It kept me turning the pages. But I was so eager to also delve into the characters themselves and found that dimension missing. Maybe because I did not read the other two books of the series, but I felt like I didn't really know the characters, esp the hero and heroine. There were also many points of view in this book, so at times I was wondering who the book was focused on. I'd hoped the book could stand alone, and maybe this is not one of them. If you are looking for a plot driven book with plenty of western action, this is your book.
