Ilana nodded. “And Mama knew, but didn’t tell me.” “And you’re sure it’s them, right?” “Oh, I’m sure. Four cousins, all of them older, plus an aunt and an uncle.” Devon’s face dropped and he looked down at the sand. I was taught not to talk about my father, that talking about him was dangerous, because someone could find me and take me away from Mama.”
