A Gift To My Children: A Father's Lessons For Life And Investing (2009) - Plot & Excerpts

This is a quite short read packed with candid advice to young generation. Make your own, focus, don't go with mob, see the world, and more. None of these might be brand new to you if you are an adult; some prediction about the future might be apart from your view. But after all, you would find a passionate, protective, and confident voice of a parent, which might like an echo of (some of) your own. I always thought, if I did parenthood over again, I'd want to teach more financial literacy to my child(ren). Or, at my age, to my grandchildren. Rogers, well-known for his success in commodities and his adventures after his retirement at the ripe old age of 37, wrote a book in which he gives advice to his young daughters, who at the time of publication were under the age of seven. He himself became a father in his 60s. Frankly, I liked the book. It isn't necessarily about financial success, but about being a successful person---one who thinks for him/herself, who is pursuing a passion, and who can own up to his/her failures as well as successes. There is an underlying theme as well--be ethical and honest. I think this is great advice to any person, at any age. I went through it twice since it was short. I got something new from it each time.
