Jack and his little sister Annie are two regular kids from Frog Creek, Pennsylvania... until they discover a mysterious tree house full of all sorts of books. From that point on their lives will never be the same again! They soon go on amazing adventures (plus children are learning bits of history and most don't realize it) as they travel through time with the help of the magic tree house. The chapters are short with pictures every few pages, making these books perfect for the beginning reader. I know this received a lot of great reviews but it just didn't work for me at all. My almost 8 year old brought this home, and we were reading it together, and it was a struggle. It just seemed so boring and dry, I haven't read any other Magic Tree house books, maybe if I had I'd like it better ..I don't know. It was just like reading a text book to me. It's nice that it has so much good history in it, but it would be a lot better if the story was more exciting.
What do You think about A Good Night For Ghosts (2009)?
Another cute book in this series read by my son Andrew and I. (love bedtime reading!)
