I'm 50/50 on this book. I enjoyed reading it but I had a LOT of issues with it! Spoiler's below so read with caution lol First issue.... the town, its never explained about how the town knows about the shifters, but they do and they accept them which is great. But the shifters kill a few people in this book and it only mentions once of them doing away with the body so it makes you wonder are they not made to take responsiblity for killing?!? I know that the people killed were bad, but what if they weren't..... Also this is the second in this series and I didn't read the first so that may be explained in the first, but it still should have been reiterated again just in case since these books are not about the same two characters each focuses on a new pair of lovers. Second issue... the last fight..... one word RUSHED! should have made it longer with more action it would add to the suspence of who would win, maybe even have one badly hurt something! since it was way to fairtale with the "good guys" winning. Third issue.... the sex.... again rushed, it got confusing at times about what Nate was doing. and then also some of the dialog was juvenile and a bit pervy pornish. Also after the 10th time of hearing about him pouring "his seed" into I was over it and bored, there are soooo many more terms for that than "seed". Fourth issue..... toooo whiney! I understand Karla's mother and sister and total biotches and royally messed up her head, but 85% of the book was her whining wondering when he was gonna hurt her when he was right there everyday. Give me some REAL drama. Like the bad guys kidnapping her or Nate getting hurt and Karla trying to rescue him.... SOMETHING!SOOOO in general I read the book in a few hours since it is super duper short and it wasn't a bad story there is a lot of potential there but the shortness hurt this book. The sex and fights should have been drawn out more. Slow down in the sex part make the reader tingly in their nether regions and in the action and fights stretch them out to give more suspense to keep the reader engaged and turning those pages to see what happens. Give it more drama! Another fantastic book in the Sassy Mates series. Karla was the quiet one in the first book, but she shows a mean temper several times in this book and she was fierce! As with Jordan and Aric in Scent of a Mate, both Karla and Nate have been attracted to each other for years. Karla has some emotional family baggage which leads her to push Nate away. I loved the patience he demonstrates in helping her break down the walls she has. Action, danger, and romance aplenty with, of course, hot and steamy love scenes make this another must read. I continue to love the friendship/family dynamic and relationship the women have with each other. And Barbara makes an amazing MIL. I think I enjoyed this book even more than the first, which I loved.
What do You think about A Mate's Bite (2014)?
Love this series. It's the wolf version of the vampire argeneau series
