I found out about this book through popular YouTuber Tiffanyd666. She created a trailer about this book. After watching it, I was eager to buy it, but then I found out it was a self-published novel. That was kind of a problem for me; self-published books aren't my thing. I usually get irritated with mistakes in a book, but this story was so enjoyable I was able to condone those errors. Yes, the author's lacking vocabulary, infinite run-on sentences, excessive use of commas, little/no character development was annoying at times. The story itself was kind of cliched and overly predictable (except for the ending), but then why is it I loved it to much? Why is it I now rate it 5 stars? Why do I now consider it one of my favorite stand-alone novels? Maybe I'm just a sucker for undying love and cheesy romance, but still. If you're looking for 100% romance, hot scenes with all kinds of sex really, and most of all, an entertaining read, try this. The book is long, and most of it rather unnecessary, but I'm so glad for it. I'm not sure what I expected from A Rose to the Fallen, but I'm surely glad I gave it a chance. April is certainly very creative and could accomplish so much with a good editor. I look forward for more of her books. If you're undecided about this, watch Tiffany's YouTube video on it. This book was intense, I give it a 3.70. The prologue really had me and as I read the book I kept waiting for the paranormal aspect of the story to appear, but it wasn't until after they meet that we actually have a small glance into the supernatural. At times I become frustrated and wonder if the prologue was not related to the actual plot, since for the most part the plot continue without much supernatural events and I began to feel it was more of a contemporary story. There are some laugh out loud moments, erotic scenes, suspense and intriguing characters. I have to admit that there were times when I felt the plot was not going anywhere and the description of the love scene had me eye-rolling many times. Some stuff I felt was a bit too much ( umm..somebody crying all the time..)Overall, it was a good read I wish the author would have included more action/suspense and although I am ok with the ending, I did not like how their lives turn out to be at the end. I actually would have not mind reading about Justine or that Jake to truly fall in love.
What do You think about A Rose To The Fallen (2008)?
A gift from my friend Lora who LOVED this book...so I am excited.
