A Simples Life: The Life And Times Of Aleksandr Orlov (2010) - Plot & Excerpts
I must admit I cheated - I'm rating the audio book not the actual book.I went for the audio book because for me, a lot of the appeal of Alexander is his voice and the humour that comes across within it and that would have been lost if I read the book myself. So I bought the audio book and had him read it to me and I must admit it really improved the experience for me - I'm glad I listened to it rather than reading it (although I can see how his voice might grate with people after a while)I thought it was very good, the recording was only an hour and I really enjoyed it :) It had humor, tender moments, action, bad guys and a happy ending, what more could you ask for? Brilliantly written and enjoyable to read. SASKAT Review: The creativity to put together history so wondefulness and excellents was joy to read. The Simples Life of Aleksandr Orlov is triumphs to read and belonging in historical (hysterical) halls of great literatures! I give this book four and half claws! Would have been five claws but felt bad about Sergei's PS...it was funny, but offered half claw as gesture! In a word this book was "Simples!"
