This story was a bit flat for me. I wasn't too interested in the murder victim or the characters surrounding her. I would have liked more; there wasn't much to the competition between Penny's spa and the new salon and Victoria's involvement in the investigation could have been expanded. I have great affection for Penny and really enjoy this series, so I'm looking forward to reading the next installment. A cozy mystery set in a little town in northern Wales, this was a quick read and an enjoyable one. In this fourth book of the series, Penny Brannigan is surprised to learn that a new business is opening in direct competition with her nail salon. The discovery of a dead body by Penny while walking her dog puts into perspective her worry about her business' bottom line...unfortunately the body is that of the new spa owner's daughter. Soon more secrets are revealed, and danger stalks the inquisitive Penny.
This gentle cozy series is very nicely done with comfortable characters and some clever plotting.
