I really liked this book. I have to agree that this has so far been the best of the series and I am absolutely in love with Sarah. I like her character strengths and find her lack of certain abilities very refreshing. I also very much enjoyed how the author kept hinting that not all is as it seems with her. As far as the rest of the characters - they display the usual wit and heroic qualities but it is not so overbearing as with Miach from the first books. A great story that unfortunately ended way too fast. On to the next book... Even though this book moves on to different characters, it is a great continuation of the series. I continue to love the way Kurland weaves her love story into a fairly classic fantasy novel. I will say that I felt like it took me a little while to get into the story, but it was kind of the same with the first book in the series. Once you really get to know the characters though, the book is a delight. I think this book is meant to kind of take place at the same time as the first three, and I'm curious to see if she brings the stories together at all because I don't recall these characters coming into the story of the first three books at all.
well the story was promising and compelling...though I couldn't help but got a feeling of déjà vu

Really loved this. High fantasy with a strong female protagonist who's pretty sassy.
