After Dr. Radhika Sharma promises her young patient that she would tell him a story, she fishes out the diary of her childhood sweetheart Raen and begins reliving his memories of how the unlikely pair fell in love. We learn how fate cruelly interrupts their story and how Radhika grows up unable to shake free from their relationship. The story then moves to the present on how Radhika deals with her issues. What I could not understand was if the kind of love Radhika and Raen claimed and made out to be, it should have been freeing and not stifling as explained. So finally after so so long i'm getting to write something good about some book. Otherwise i was coming across books full of crap for so long. The book, i wish, could be described in a word, but there's just so much. unlike others i would spare the storyline, which you can obviously get from other comments. So getting to the analysis og the book, lets start with the pros. The book was very much gripping and i loved the way story line is taken. Just when we start wondering, "Oh this is the another usual story of another lost love story, the writer brought in a master of twist in it and the twists got even more twisted only to pull us more into the book.it takes a lot of guts and confidence to w2rite a script that has no living proof and is much like a fantasy and yet believably realistic.Like i always mention, if a book affects your mind and it makes you analyse the meaning behind it, and keeps you lost in it even after you finish it...the book is a hit. this book was surely a hit for me.The writer's portrayal of true love, life, suffering and most importanly Re-birth leaves us thinking deeply about it. Well i almost started to believe that there is rebirth possible. Amongst the writers who write dark humour, campus chick-lits and the usual struggle-lose-break up- win back the lost love stories...Novoneel's 'A Thing Beyond Forever' stood out and gave me something new to read. The climax (not just the epilogue) was beautiful, touching and deserves appreciation.Moving onto the cons...Too much of detailing was there, it did sometime piss me. it could have been slightly less. The book until the end of diary entry was not really gripping. the flashback story could have been slightly more innovative. it was a very predictable story of past. the book turned out to be the original page turner only after the Laye's drawing book enters, That is when last 60 pages of the book is left to read. The author has filled in the book with so much philosophy that half of it went above my head. looking at life in such a philosophical way by almost every character did not help us to relate ourselves with the characters. So as per my final verdict, you can read this book once if you are willing to read some fantasy fiction which gives a story on love and rebirth. It wasn't very unreal though. Good job!
What do You think about A Thing Beyond Forever (2008)?
The book is good. But through the end becomes much dramatic than needed!
